At Tonbo Dojo we study Samurai sword arts (Kenjutsu), and empty hand arts (Aiki Jujutsu).
We welcome new students of all levels and previous experience to join our martial arts club.

How to find us
We are located in Traverse City Fencing Club, only 5 minutes from downtown Traverse City.
From Traverse City, go south on Cass, then left on Sybrant road (just before South Airport). The fencing school is on your right, in a large converted warehouse. Drive around the side of the warehouse and look for the signs on the door.
From South Airport, turn north on Cass, then right on Sybrant road. The fencing school is on your right, in a large converted warehouse. Drive around the side of the warehouse and look for the signs on the door.
Park anywhere along the side of the warehouse.
The fencing club has done a great job converting this warehouse into a specialized space for fencing and martial arts practice.
There is a large loading bay door, and a smaller regular door. Look for the "Nami Ryu" sign on the smaller door, and come on in! We usually arrive a few minutes early, to get ready.
